Toddler Sense introduces a whole new world of adventure for toddlers and children up to the age of three years. Great music, great equipment and great new ideas! Imagine climbing a snow mountain, going on safari, digging for fossils, swimming with dolphins and hunting for dinosaurs? Every week introduces a whole new adventure. The main emphasis is on mobility, excitement and adventure. It is a fast-moving, action-packed programme. Toddler Sense is very different to Baby Sensory, but equally addictive.

Visitors are always welcome but please call in advance to reserve your place.

Experience

My experience with children consists mainly of nannying for a toddler for a year and helping (every week!) to take care of my sister’s two year old twins.  If you have attended the baby sensory classes then you will know that classes are structured and full of learning! The toddler age is a fantastic stage for your child to learn from new activities, songs, dances etc. so why not come along and see what our classes have to offer!

Qualifications

I studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, receiving a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art.  I plan to use these creative skills in my classes to make each theme/adventure more exciting for the toddlers!  Following university I went on to nanny for a 3 year old boy for a year and now help with childcare for my sister with her 2 year old twins.  Running after them is probably my main qualification!

Every baby sensory and toddler sense leader is taken through training to make sure that they are able to run classes to the highest standard so that your child has as much fun as possible in a safe and friendly environment.

Description

Our Toddler Classes are divided into three balanced phases incorporating warm-up activities and skill development activities, where children are encouraged to explore their environment and a challenging conclusion. Activities are short, dynamic and fun with a clear sense of purpose. Children are guided on adventures to the stars, through the jungle, underwater and to different places around the world.

Toddler Sense classes always start with the Adventure Play area, which is set out differently each week. Children enjoy scrambling over obstacles, balancing on steps and blocks, crawling through tunnels and climbing over the trestles and ramps. They also enjoy putting the equipment away after play.
Adventure Play is followed by structured, themed activities and games led by the Class Leader. The first activity always starts with our 'How do you do?' song, which involves singing, rhythm sticks and holding hands. You and your child will then enjoy an action-packed adventure in a multi-sensory environment.
