Experience

I studied Bioscience with Biomedical Science at Robert Gordon University before obtaining my teaching qualification at University of Aberdeen.

I started teaching Biology and Science in Aberdeen where I had a very enjoyable two years, before moving to Glasgow for a promoted post as Head of Biology. I have since taught in different schools across Glasgow and have been actively involved with the wider life of the school; including running the Eco Schools programme, and taking a group of Senior pupils to Borneo.

I have always been passionate about Science and love working with children. For the last ten years I have had the privilege of nurturing the natural curiosity, imagination and ambition of those in my lessons and imparted the skills to enable them to solve problems and think critically. All children are natural scientists; making observations and discoveries about the world around them, formulating predictions and testing out their theories, and learning about cause and effect.

I had my first son during summer 2015 and have loved watching him progress through his 
developmental milestones. I see his natural curiosity and his ability to solve simple problems whilst playing with his toys already. Hopefully I have another Mini Professor in the making!

Mini Professors is the perfect next step for me; I cannot wait to be working with pre-school children making Science fun, exciting and accessible. There will be plenty of whizzes, pops and bangs and much more besides. I look forward to seeing you at a lesson soon.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Bioscience with Biomedical Science from Robert Gordon's University, Aberdeen.

PGDE (Secondary) Biology with Science from University of Aberdeen,  with over 10 years’ teaching experience.

Member of PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme

 

 

Description

Mini Professors Lanarkshire and South Glasgow are currently running amazing science classes weekly in Newton Mearns, Bellshill, Airdrie and East Kilbride.  These locations are easily accessible for parents/carers living in the local communities including; Coatbridge, Bellshill, Uddingston, Carfin, Motherwell, Hamilton, Bothwell, Larkhall, Strathaven, Newton Mearns, Busby, Giffnock, Barrhead, Carmunock, Eaglesham, Thorntonhall,  Thornliebank, Cambuslang, Blantyre and the surrounding areas.

Prices

Each Mini Professors class is approx. 40 minutes long.
 
Classes are £7.00 per week and are to be paid in 6 week blocks. Classes must be booked and paid for in advance of the first class to secure your place. Sibling/twin discounts are available, please contact me for more details.
