Laura 

After the birth of my first son, a number of my friends recommended the Baby Sensory classes running in the area. I wanted to give my little boy the best possible start, so I looked at a number of groups and activities and we attended most of the local mother and baby activities. The Baby Sensory classes however, definitely stood out from the rest. I had a look at the website and was so excited by what I saw and what I had heard from my friends I just had to sign up. I was wowed at our first class, which was the pirate week, and there were pirate ships and water games. It was so exciting. I was amazed by the different activities and the exciting classes that were offered, and loved the fact that these varied each week, no week was ever the same. I loved the classes and could see my little boy develop each week in front of my eyes, clearly learning from the activities that were being offered – things that I could not always do with him on my own at home such as water play, light shows, bubbles, signing and singing just to name a few things that we did in the classes.

My husband and I had a tricky start into parenthood with our first little boy having a number of minor complications and illnesses when he was first born. Baby Sensory classes also helped to enable me to meet other mums who had similar experiences which was really beneficial and many of us have become lifelong friends.

I enjoyed the Baby Sensory classes so much that I returned after the birth of my second son.  He still attends and absolutely loves the classes, especially the bubbles, light shows and puppet shows! 

Prior to becoming a mum, I gained my masters degree in Business Management Specialising in Human Resources and I was granted MCIPD status. I worked as an HR Manager in Financial Service and I also worked in the Charity sector working with many adults and children with learning difficulties and mental health conditions. After having my children I wanted a career change. I was keen to work with babies as I love watching them grow and develop as I am still (and probably always will be) in awe of how much they change in the first year. It was a combination of factors therefore that made me decide I wanted to take over Baby Sensory in the Kings Lynn region and I am so thrilled with the decision I have made. Meeting fantastic parents / carers and babies along the way I am very excited to be running these fantastic Baby Sensory classes.

 

Qualifications

Laura has received in-depth training to conduct the best baby classes for you and your little one. Laura is fully trained in Baby Sensory Learning and Development Techniques.

In addition to this Laura has a masters degree in Business Management specialising in Human Resource Management and is MCIPD qualified.
 
Laura has recently been awarded with OUTSTANDING grade by assessors for classes that she delivers in the area.

Description

Each week your baby will experience a new and exciting themed class, and go on an adventure which will enable their developmental journey. No week on a baby sensory class is the same, with a different lesson plan every week, to ensure the best possible learning and development journey for your baby. The classes are designed by Dr. Lin Day, and expert in her field, and each activity within each class is specifically designed to help your baby, experiment, explore, make decisions and solve problems and much more all encouraging progression and giving your baby the best possible development and learning experience, and having fun at the same time!

Laura runs Baby Sensory classes in West Norfolk. These multi-award winning classes are held weekly in Downham Market and Kings Lynn. These locations are easily accessible for parents living in the local communities. Prices

A full term usually consists of 10 classes and costs £70.
You can also book for 5 weeks which costs £35.

Sensory only (Wisbech Tesco and Kings Lynn Tesco) classes are slightly shorter at 35 to 45 minutes in length and there is no exploratory play area therefore these classes cost £55 for 10 or £30 for 5 classes.

All payments should be made to Baby Sensory within 7 days of the booking being made, or before the start date of the course booked, whichever comes first. 

 

Discounts and Special Circumstances:

Discounts are possible in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion.   

 

Twins and multiple babies:
We are pleased to offer a special rate in this circumstance. The first baby will be charged at the standard rate each baby thereafter will be charged at half rate e.g. In the case of twins the first baby will be charged at £70.00 and the second baby will be charged at £35.00 for the same 10 week block booking. In this case the total = £105.00. It is recommended that you bring another carer with you to help with the babies whenever possible as the Class Leader will not necessarily be able to take responsibility for your baby.

 

Once payment has been received you will be given a window of 7 days in which you can cancel your booking and a full refund will be honoured.

 

Booking Confirmation:

Your place will only be secured once full payment has been received and you have confirmation of this from Baby Sensory. We are currently unable to accept deposits to secure a placement. 

 

Refunds and missed classes:

Due to the high demand and limited spaces available of these classes, we are currently unable to refund monies for missed classes however, if you are unable to attend your regular class, it may be possible for you to come along to another venue that same week subject to availability or to offer your space to a friend (non Baby Sensory members welcome). 
Depending on demand for classes it may be possible to offer a maximum of 1 holiday class in a 10 week term if the class leader is informed of which classes you cannot make. Reasonable notice of this is required (a minimum of 2 weeks). Holiday classes are granted solely at the class leaders discretion taking each individuals circumstances into account. Please note if classes are fully booked it may not be possible to offer holiday classes.

 

Change/Cancellation of venue and class times:

In the event changes occur to your class or venue, every effort will be made to communicate the changes to you as early as possible.
If we have to cancel a class; the payment for this class is either transferrable to your next block booking or a refund can be made.
In unforeseen circumstances it may be necessary for us to cancel a venue indefinitely, sometimes at short notice.

 

In the event we cancel a venue, we will attempt to firstly offer you a place at another venue. If this cannot be offered or the venue or time is inconvenient to you a refund will be given for remaining weeks owed.

Siblings:

Baby Sensory classes are specifically designed for babies from birth to 13 months of age. We therefore request that children who attend the sessions are within this age bracket. At this time unfortunately we are not able to accommodate older siblings within the classes. However, hopefully in the future if the demand is high enough then it may be possible to add another class which is specifically designed for babies to attend with older siblings. Please email if you require further information regarding this.
During school holidays or special classes older siblings may be welcome to attend classes, this will be communicated to you directly by the class leader. If older siblings are in attendance the class leader requests that the older child in no way endangers younger babies or causes disruption to the rest of the class. Should this occur (in very rare and exceptional circumstances) the class leader has complete discretion to ask your family to leave the class.

Special events:
Special events and the cost of these will be posted on our website and on Facebook. Please see separate information regarding this. Non baby sensory members are more than welcome to attend our special events subject to availability.  Prices for special events will be slightly higher than the usual class fee. 

Please note that parents are responsible for their baby and personal belongings at all times during classes. This is not the responsibility of the class leader.
